The renovation of the home's lower level transformed a dark, outdated basement into a vibrant entertainment space with a wine cellar and gym featuring an infrared sauna. The wine cellar, created from existing structural columns, became a unique focal point, turning an obstruction into a special destination. The biggest challenge was reimagining a windowless, underground space with an old stone fireplace and awkward columns into a welcoming area for both adults and children. A standout feature is the integrated lighting, which brightens key architectural details and enhances the space’s openness. In the gym, a color-shifting LED strip allows users to adjust the lighting to match their mood, optimizing the workout experience by aligning with circadian rhythms.
