Established in 2010, Christian Rae Studio is the creative collaboration between Rachel and Christian Calemmo. Based in Fairfield, CT, we bring together over two decades of expertise to create spaces that are both functional and inspiring.

Christian Calemmo is a licensed architect in Connecticut and New York.

Rachel Calemmo is an interior designer and certified lighting designer (LC), with additional credentials as a LEED-accredited professional.

Together, we have successfully completed projects throughout Connecticut, Westchester County, New York City, and beyond, spanning a wide range of styles, budgets, and scales.

Christian Calemmo, AIA

PRINCIPAL

Christian is the co-founder of Christian Rae Studio, LLC, with 18 years of experience creating distinctive designs in Fairfield and Westchester. He began his career with Rich Granoff of Granoff Architects in Greenwich, CT, and later worked with Vita Design Group on residential and commercial projects. His expertise spans custom designs and developer-led models, consistently exceeding client expectations while staying on budget.

Christian's projects often integrate environmentally sustainable strategies, earning LEED Silver and Platinum certifications for work in the Hamptons. Beyond residential design, he also provides branding and design services for restaurants and commercial projects.

Christian holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Philadelphia University (now Jefferson) and is licensed in Connecticut and New York.

Rachel Calemmo, LC LEED® AP

PRINCIPAL

Rachel Calemmo, co-founder of Christian Rae Studio, LLC, specializes in creating visually appealing environments by integrating light, color, materials, and space. She oversees all aspects of design, construction, and management, with a focus on lighting.

Rachel is a Lighting Certified (LC) professional and a LEED® Accredited Professional, ensuring that her projects balance aesthetics with energy efficiency. She collaborates closely with clients, architects, and engineers to seamlessly integrate lighting into architectural design.

Rachel holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from Philadelphia University and studied at the American Intercontinental University in London.

STUDIO

Wayne Beers, Associate AIA

Since 2017 Wayne has been a project manager and architectural designer at CRS. He is integral to the architecture studio practice developing high-end residential homes and commercial projects.

He has over 26 years of experience in architectural design, artistic renderings, construction documents and detailing.

Wayne is a member of the Paradise Township Planning Board and is actively involved in multiple charitable community organizations. Wayne is a graduate of Johnson College.

Chris Rountos, AIA

Chris joined the CRS design team in fall of 2021.  After 10 years as co-owner and manager of The Spinning Wheel restaurant in Redding, CT, he has returned to his true passion of architecture bringing with him his years of entrepreneurial experience. 

He began his career at Robert A.M. Stern in NYC as a design associate working on various high-end residences.

Chris has a strong understanding of craft and detail gained through several years working at Kent Bloomer Studio designing and fabricating architectural elements such as gates, light fixtures and other custom metalworking.

Chris holds a Master’s Degree from the Yale school of Architecture and is a licensed architect in the State of Connecticut.

Emily Slattberg

Emily graduated in the spring of 2024 with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a minor in Art History from Clemson University.

Throughout her academic and professional journey, Emily has gained diverse experience through internship positions in commercial, educational, and residential design.

This multi-faceted background has equipped her with a broad perspective and a strong foundation in various design sectors. She particularly enjoys residential design, valuing the level of detail and the creative freedom it offers to create personalized, functional spaces.
